Since the users’ attention span is no more than the first 5-10 seconds, you should do your best to be direct and let them know exactly what they’ll get if they tune in live.Ĭonsider using your teaser video as a social ad. She then grabs screen shots from this mini video session and uses them to create engaging thumbnails for her videos. Pro tip! Stephanie Liu from Showrunner: Secrets from the Set always spends 5-10 minutes in Ecamm Live smiling, pointing at the top and bottom of the screen, acting shocked, and more. And don’t forget to create an enticing video thumbnail for your preview. You’ll want to make sure you have the same background and graphics in your teaser video as you’ll have when you’re live (for consistency’s sake). Simply select “record only” from the destination menu and then create a short video letting viewers and potential viewers know what they can expect if they tune in live. And bonus! You can create teaser videos right in Ecamm Live as you’re preparing for your live stream. Trailers and teasers grab the audience’s attention and make users want to RSVP to show up for your live video. Tip #3 – Create Teaser VideosĪnother great way to grow your audience is to create teaser videos that you can promote ahead of time. Do not forget about relevant keywords, links back to your website or additional resources, social links, and any other content that would be helpful not only for viewers, but for anyone searching for your video. Use the same principles when crafting your description. The headline should be short, intriguing, relevant to the content, reflect the topic, and match the audience’s request. Therefore, make a title that will attract attention. YouTube is the second largest search engine online, so why not improve rankings and catch some more users from organic search?ĭo not forget that search engines cannot analyze videos, but they can do it with text. So you want to make sure that your live videos pop. These days, everyone is incredibly busy and there is lots of fantastic content out there. Tip #2 – Pay Attention to Titles, Descriptions, and Video Thumbnails Bonus: the more comments and engagement on the scheduled broadcast also helps your video become more discoverable. This way you’ll know the kinds of things that your viewers will want to see in your live video. Bonus! You can use additional posts on those platforms to ask viewers questions before you go live. If you increase the interest of your audience before you start broadcasting, then the likelihood that you will receive a large number of viewers increases as well. It allows your potential viewers to set a reminder. Scheduling your live videos creates a post on the social platform that you’re broadcasting to. Let him take the lead so he absorbs most of the damage. If not, look at who Farin is attacking and try to help him out. If you're playing as Farin, attack the nearest one and work your way in. It's probably best not to just roll into the orcish mage's shield and attack because you'll immediately be swarmed by the others. None of this wave will have any archers, so use any normal tactics to eliminate them. Kill them, and more orcs will arrive, including an orcish mage. Once he's down, you'll encounter a couple waves of weak goblins. He'll charge you occasionally, so as always, you'll need to be ready to roll at a moment's notice. Try to ignore the big one at first (your party tends to keep him busy anyway) to clear out his friends, then set up an attack the big one from range. Try to clear out the other orcs first though, because just sitting back and hitting him from range will cause the others to swarm you and strike you down. You've got a very large orc here with a very large sword, and engaging him in melee is suicide. Next you'll encounter a small campsite of orcs, which will present your first real challenge. Once the cave is properly looted, exit, then turn left to continue. You'll be able to gather some (but not all, yet) ingredients to the Miruvor side quest, as well as a chest of stuff. Kill them all, but be sure to explore the cave. A couple crossbow orcs will be deeper into the cave, and it's best to close the distance on them by just continually doing rolls until you're within melee distance. It won't be long before you take your third ambush, as some weak orcs will come from a cave to your left. Once they're dead, head back to the main path and continue on. Once you've got it, you'll be jumped by a pathetic force of a half-dozen goblins, and at this point, you'd probably have to try in order to die. The path leads to a dead end, but you can pick up chest with some goodies there. You saw some orcs jump this gap for the first ambush, and if you run at the gap, you will automatically jump it as well. After you get clear of the ambush, go up this hill, and you can follow the path around to a small gap in the rocks. You'll have a second ambush shortly after the first, and two orcs wielding crossbows will come off a little hill on the right. Follow that up with attacks, and you should be able to take them down. They will usually stagger themselves when they strike you if you're blocking, or you can at least do your block attack to stagger them just a hair. If you see one approach, immediately throw up a block. The ones you really have to watch out for are the dual-wielding orcs with no helmets, because these guys hit hard and are not staggered easily by your attacks. It's a nice change of pace from the crazy and dark undead, but these guys aren't the same orcs you dealt with back in Fornost. Follow the bridge on which Arwen stands, and you'll see the glowing symbol that leads you to the next area.ĭespite the party's insistence that everything has been peaceful so far, you'll almost immediately encounter orcs. If you wait a bit longer, you can give it to a Dwarven blacksmith instead, and the weapons will have bonuses to strength or straight damage, making it more suitable for Farin. For example, if you give it to Angmir, he'll forge it into either a sword or a staff (your choice), both of which will have benefits to your mana, making it more suitable for Andriel. It won't be class-dependent, but it will have properties lending itself to a certain class. The general idea is that the item you found in the Barrow of Amon Gorthad can be reforged into a powerful weapon. Work of Westernesse is unique in that you can cash it in by speaking to several people. Speak to Angmir, and you can cash in your side quest Work of Westernesse. Meanwhile, the blacksmith is run by a guy named Angmir, who is located on the opposite side of the area as Frodo, Bilbo, and Elaure. ![]() Now, if your file contained only plain ASCII characters (Latin letters, Arabic numerals, and some punctuation - but no accents), then you can probably choose any encoding you like from the list, and it probably won't make any difference. RTF and plain-text are not formats of this type.)Īll that OO sees is a bunch of bytes it has no idea how to turn those into characters. ![]() (To be fair, though, some file formats (like XML) do contain their encoding: but it has to be an encoding that lets you read far enough in the file to find the encoding, without interpreting any bytes incorrectly. Files don't store their encoding in the file (because most can't), and most filesystems don't store the encoding in the metadata either (though I believe Macs might). What OO is asking you is which of those encodings it should use when it interprets the bytes in the file you gave it. This ends up being able to encode all of the Unicode code points, but higher ones end up taking either 5 or 6 bytes to encode (or so), because you have to split up the bits between that many bytes, to leave enough room for the various flag bits. And once you get to the last byte of a given code point, there's some kind of signal in its upper bits that it is actually the last byte - this is for error checking. If the high bit is set in the first byte of a character, that means that more bytes are to come: the number of bytes to come depends on which of the highest few bits are set in the first. The first 128 code points are stored in a single byte, and are the same as in ASCII (so you can interpret an ASCII file as UTF-8), but the next byte values don't match any of the old 8-bit encodings. In UTF-8, each code point is split into a variable number of bytes. (You also can't take an ASCII file and interpret it as UTF-16, for the same reason as UTF-32.) UCS-2 does have a range of values that it can't use, though: these are the values that UTF-16 uses as the first of a combining character.) So it can only represent code points in the BMP this isn't enough. (This is where UTF-16 and UCS-2 differ: UCS-2 doesn't allow combining characters. The first - the ones that UTF-16 can represent directly - is the Basic Multilingual Plane, but it isn't quite big enough to store everything.) So most code points in UTF-16 are two bytes, but some are four. (In Unicode, each 16-bit code point group is a plane. In UTF-16, you store any code point below 65536 as-is, and use combining characters (that is, pairs of 16-bit units) to represent the code points in the other planes. And you can't take an ASCII file and interpret it as UTF-32, either: you'll be taking a group of four characters and trying to interpret them as one. So you're wasting (somewhere up to) 12 bits for every character, and even more than that if you're only using "low" code points (e.g. In UTF-32, you store each code point as it is, embedded in a 32-bit word. Possible encodings are UTF-32, UTF-16, UTF-8, and UCS-2/4 (AFAIK UCS-2 should not be used because it can't represent the entire Unicode character range, and UCS-4 is the same as UTF-32). ![]() Code point assignments for any other 8-bit encoding will not match.īut then again, when you create a file using Unicode, you don't store the code point directly as bytes in the file, either: you use a separate encoding that translates code point values to byte sequences. Code point assignments for ISO8859-1 characters may match, but I'm not sure if they actually do. "LATIN SMALL LETTER A") have the same numerical value as that character does in ASCII (e.g. Code points are (currently) up to 20-some bits long.Ĭode point assignments for ASCII characters (e.g. One is from a character to a code point - a given character always has the same code point value. There's also Unicode, which defines two different levels of conversion. KOI8-R assigns Cyrillic characters ISO8859-1 assigns various characters with accents for Western European languages, etc. So if you have a true 7-bit-ASCII file, it can be loaded using any of these character sets, and you'll get the right characters.) But none of them is compatible with the others: they all assign different characters to the byte values above 127. (The others are also "compatible" with ASCII, in that the first 128 bytes have the same characters as in ASCII. ASCII uses 7 bits (all defined ASCII characters' bytes have the highest bit clear), while the others use all 8 bits. All of the encodings mentioned above are alike in that they represent each character (that they're able to represent) in one byte or less. There are about a million different ways to encode characters into bytes. But why is it that when OOwriter open them that it asks about the character encoding etc, why not just open it up? Because, um, it doesn't know the character encoding? ![]() The brilliant banter, warmth and familiarity of Max and Oskar, the acting all round was stupendous! I did enjoy the applied Freud despite this being shoe-horned in to practically explain almost everything. This highly stylistic setting created a profundity to the often obvious or banal storylines, it really was a triumph in spades. An overload of ravishing but fading Biedermeier interiors from the 1850's slowing morphing to the secession period around the Fin de siècle before arriving at full on art nouveau. Series 3 Two things placed this drama on a pedestal of excellence. I want one of those strudels now! The source material and screenplay from this has a lightness of touch that plays with the viewer like an Agatha Christie, it really is the best thing I have seen for years. A travel guide to Vienna could not do a better job displaying the sumptuous, decadent and luxuriate Biedermeier style of the fin-de-siecle. It was quite a shock that we had a change of actress playing Amelia, and then playing it so differently, however we must all embrace change. This show had real depth and kept us guessing as the investigation unfolded. It was a team act of the first order, totally believable acting with a clever, humorous and nuanced script. This show just has everything with the chemistry between Max and Oskar at the heart of it. Season 2 Hit the ground with a bang, a strychnine poisoning, a hotel lothario, a countess, self-flagellation and plenty of Freudian interrogation. I would confirm without hesitation another couple of series and advertise this shows brilliance widely. Matthew (cheek-bones) Beard is certainly a tremendous talent as is Jurgen Murer. This was certainly not a cheap production, what incredible detail, the stylist deserves an award. Continuity was confirmed with several overarching story lines and we had strong ensemble performances. There were smatterings of Sherlock Holmes and Ripper Street but this drama held it own with its own style and panache. This was totally gripping! The show rested entirely on the believable relationship between Dr Max and Inspector Reinhardt, and this was comprehensively realised by really quite brilliant underplayed acting and deadpan delivery. Straightforward linear stories set in a sumptuous set, with brilliant direction and a lightness of touch on the delivery of what could have been a clunky script. Vienna Blood Season 1 & 2 I loved this series of three murder investigations. I hope the coming episodes are equally high in quality to the first one. In this first episode most of the secondary characters did not get much attention, but I hope this will change in later episodes. There are some small references to the famous 'Third Man', or I thought to recognise them. Of course Vienna is the third main Character, as it is shown in most of it's remaining Glory from the old days. Tension is built very well until the case is solved in a nice finale. There is always some dry humor present, which makes the show a very pleasant watch.ĭirecting by Robert Dornhelm in the first episode is great. Very high production values, meticulously catching the flair of the young 20th century during the short time when Vienna was the capital of a huge empire, where the Jews tried to find their place by assimilating themselves. But they may have had a similiar name for a killer's extrapolated personality.Īcting is really very good, and Mathew Beard is just optimal for Liebermann, exploring new methods of deduction and investigation. The term of 'profiler' is used, and I'm quite sure that's for the audience only, and wasn't known then. Of course, Both main characters, Lieberman and the inspector, have to come together from very diametrical positions of how a case should be solved. First to say, it's not Sherlock & Watson.
